The city of Volos since its accession to the Greek state until today has experienced multiple arrivals and departures. Its Muslim inhabitants departed by crossing the 2nd of November and a few decades later refugees from Asia Minor crossed the 2nd of November heading for the factories and the port of the city. Internal migrants followed the same routes in the early post-war years, while today the populations from Albania, Eastern Europe and the Global South follow exactly the same steps.
